foot stool

I’d made some roman blinds for this client and there was spare fabric left over which was used to transform this dated and delicate little footstool into a fun piece for a child’s bedroom.

“It’s seen better days!”

The wood was very fragile so in order to preserve the piece I wanted to do as little as possible to the wood to prevent it from deteriorating further. I like to be as environmentally conscious as possible so all the stuffing layers were recycled.

Getting the final look right

I played around with the top fabric as the client wanted to include as many of the animals on the print as possible. Her son, though, was scared of one particular animal so I fitted the fabric without the scary animal showing.

Cost: £100 plus fabric
